The Institution of Health was created for the Far Bazzar juried exhibition at the Bingo Building in the Brewery located in downtown Los Angeles. The installation included a 20-foot long, 8-foot high and 4-foot wide tent corridor made of willow dowels and muslin cloth jetting out from a window. At the end of the corridor on a table, stood a hand-made book entitled Operation Manual, which gives a personal account of a gynecological surgery. The white tunnel brings up notions of "going under," the antiseptic hospital environment, and wiping clean.
